Details on our PLP project

Below are the results of our expectation/assumption brainstorming at the Kickoff.

Assumptions:

• We will check our email on a regular enough basis so that we will receive notifications from blogs, wikis, nings, etc. in a timely fashion so that a dynamic conversation can take place.
• We are committed to this for the year.
• This will be a long learning cycle
• I will need to learn this/use this for personal reasons first.
• I will find ways to include these technologies in my classes.
• Our team will be very helpful and supportive of each other throughout the PLP learning process.
• We are going to meet after the elluminate session to talk about it.

Expectations:

• Learn new skills--this can be very authentic/organic if we let it
• Meet sometimes in person/also sometimes split by campus
• We will all participate enthusiastically
• We will all help each other learn
• We will ask questions when we have them
• We will meet face to face occassionally
• We will work together to create something that we share with faculty
• We will take responsibility for bringing faculty into the 21st Century in terms of teaching and learning.

Questions:

• Are we going to present a project for each division? Or one project for the whole team?

Goals:

• Learn where our school is with using technology to educate our students and where we want to be.
• Learn 21st Century tools for myself and effective ways to incorporate them into my teaching.
